Anyone have any advice on any of the following:

1. Finding a running group in Boston, MA?

2. Finding a gym with a pool that isn’t constantly busy with classes or several deep with lap swimmers? (Preferably a gym with locations in MA, CT, NY, and PA - all the place I travel.)

3. Finding a swim group in Boston, MA?

4. Finding a personal trainer or group of trainers that specialize in training for triathlons? The big caveat is that I travel a ridiculous amount, so I’d need to find a trainer who is comfortable monitoring my progress from afar as I train in gyms all over the northeast.

As the 60 minute mark rolled around on the timer, the 27 mile mark also ticked by.  27 miles per hour… for an hour?  Really?

Sadly, no, that’s just not the case.  The bikes at Planet Fitness are, well, not even close to accurate, but I use them several times a week, so I can at least compare my performance on the same machines.  That’s 3 miles per hour faster, in relative terms, than any other time I have ridden at Planet Fitness.  What’s more, I wasn’t even pushing myself.  I had enough energy at the end for a prolonged sprint to the finish, averaging 30 mph for the last five minutes.

The cool down period knocked my average speed down a bit, but I was thrilled with the ease of the performance.

Me strong like ox.  First walk since ye old injury.  Found myself full of energy, stamina, and had no pain associated with my foot.  I was a little tight in my right leg from all the cycling, elliptical, and stair master work I’ve been doing, not to mention the strength training and step work intervals.  Needless to say, I kept it short.

I topped out at 6 mph and my HR was much lower than it had been when I last ran 6 mph.  I didn’t feel the least bit tired.  In fact, I had to talk myself out of setting a personal best for the mile.  “You want to complete the LVHM”, I told myself.  “You can set the mile personal best any time.”

Walking at 4.5 mph, the speed I used to average before the injury, could barely keep my HR above 110.  Friday is a swim day, so I won’t be walking again until Saturday.

All I can say is:  YAY!
